Our Circle Socials
Most activities of the Circle are social. The spirit within the Circle stems from all Members enjoying shared Catholic values. We see ourselves as an extended family. In addition to the annual pilgrimage to Storrington, home of the Bishop's palace, there are other special Catholic events such as commemorative Masses. We entertain our local priests and sisters at an annual Clergy night.
'Idle Jacks' meets monthly for drinks, a pub lunch, and gossip. While wives and widows meet monthly for coffee, and also organise occasional lunches as well as 'Ladies only' get togethers e.g. theatre trip.
In a typical year many events are enjoyed by our families, including President's Sunday, the Ousting Lunch, the annual Circle Golf Challenge & Dinner, BBQ, Summer Tea Party, Clergy Night, Ten Pin Bowling, eating out at various venues such as Powdermills Hotel, and Sillett's, & a Carols Evening with supper.
In recent years the Circle has relished Theatre shows, Pantomime, the Eastbourne & Lewes Beer Festivals, Sussex County Cricket, an evening at the 'Dogs' in Brighton, Croquet, etc.
As well as organising a variety of local gatherings, the Circle also ventures further afield. Planned for 2011 are visits to Buckingham Palace as well as the Houses of Parliament.
For 2011/12 there will be a full programme of events that will be published on this web site at the end of March.
